I Finally Did It! At 42, I Became a Personal Trainer (and I’ve Never Felt More Ready)
After 20 years of debating, doubting, and telling myself “one day”…
I finally did it.
At 42, I took the leap and became a Level 3 Personal Trainer.
And honestly? I’ve never felt more aligned with who I am.
Movement has always been part of me, even when my career took another path
I always knew, deep down, that I wanted to coach. Even in my early athletic years, I could picture myself supporting others, guiding movement, and helping people feel powerful in their bodies.
But life went in a different direction.
I studied marketing and advertising instead of sports science (still a mystery to me!), and then life unfolded: work, moving countries, motherhood, everything.
The desire to coach stayed there quietly, waiting for me to return to it.

Twenty years later… I finally listened to the voice I kept ignoring
Over the years, I explored yoga, pilates, rock climbing, swimming, cycling, running, weight training: an entire spectrum of movement that shifted my perspective from intensity to balance, from overdoing to self-respect.
And last year, becoming a Registered Health Coach and working both privately and with the NHS Type 2 Diabetes Prevention & Remission Programme reminded me of something important:
I love coaching people.
I love empowering women.
And I deeply love movement.
So why was I keeping those things separate?
So I followed the instinct I had all those years ago and became a Personal Trainer.
And here’s something I want to share openly:
I am 42, and I have never felt this strong, this mobile, or this connected to my body.
After having my son Axel, it took me four years to rebuild my strength and find myself again physically and emotionally.
And the transformation wasn’t about aesthetics.
It was about how I felt in my body.
Today, I feel strong.
I feel capable of moving in any way I want.
I feel resilient, flexible, mobile, and powerful.
Stronger than I ever did in my teens, my 20s, or even my athletic years.
And this didn’t come from extremes, punishment, or “hustle harder” mentality.

It came from:
- Working smart, not harder
- Respecting my body through each phase
- Avoiding burnout
- Listening deeply to my needs
- Not comparing myself to anyone else
- Fueling my body properly
This lived experience matters because I now bring that same compassionate, realistic, empowering approach to the women I train
